TEXAS GRAY

Original High Energy, Progressive Texas Country Music

Texas Gray formed as a band in 2011 with original members Allen Vinyard (Vocals & Bass guitar), Randy Henderson (Vocals & Drums) and Greg Hatley (Vocals & guitar). The final piece was put in place with the addition of Tim McInroe (Vocals & guitar) in late 2011. Texas Gray focuses on original, high energy progressive Texas Country styled music.  The band strives to write and produce music that people can not only dance the night away to, but that will also stick in the listener’s minds and keep a tune on their lips and in their hearts. The group also works hard to make their live show an entertaining event for those who would rather just sit back and watch. In other words a great time can be enjoyed by all at a Texas Gray show.

The band released their debut CD titled "Get Rowdy And Yell" in mid-2013.

Tim McInroe - Guitar and Vocals

Tim McInroe was born and raised in Levelland, Texas. Tim started the band Texas Rebel in the early 1980’s and the group released one album of original material in 1989. He left the group in 1990 to pursue other interests. After 21 years, a well-timed call from old friend, songwriting partner and Texas Rebel band mate Randy Henderson led to an offer to join the band Texas Gray in late 2011. Tim was added as the fourth member of the band where he plays guitar, sings and helps write much of the groups’ original material, in addition to the contributions of the other three members.

Greg Hatley - Guitar and Vocals

Greg Hatley grew up in Northeast Arkansas along the Mississippi River, listening to the radio stations out of Memphis and Nashville, Tennessee. Strongly influenced by Southern Gospel Quartets, Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins, Jerry Lee Lewis and Elvis, Greg began his musical journey at the age of six on a second hand Kay guitar. Greg joined his first band at the age of thirteen, and developed an interest in the music of groups like The Charlie Daniels Band, Lynyrd Skynyrd and ZZ Top.

Greg continued to perform locally and on the road until joining the Navy at age 24. He served 11 years in the Navy, and then several more years as a full time father while putting his passion for music on hold. As his boys grew into men and needed less and less of Dads time, Greg found himself returning to his original passion of music. He now performs with the band Texas Gray.

Allen Vinyard - Bass Guitar and Vocals

A Levelland resident for over forty years, Allen Vinyard has been into music since High School. He has played with a few local groups and had a lot of fun doing that, but when Texas Gray formed, everything seemed to come together for Him musically.

Allen co-writes with the three other members and has a great time singing backup vocals and providing the foundation of the music with his bass guitar playing.

Randy Henderson - Vocals, Drums

Randy Henderson is a seasoned Classic Country drummer from the dusty plains of West Texas, providing the “beats that moves your feets!”  A veteran of barroom dance halls, VFW halls, recording studios and concert venues, Randy's straightforward style and steady, solid in the pocket playing is guaranteed to make even the most reserved person want to get up and shake a leg. If you like any kind of country music from Classic to Texas Country, Randy plays it in a way you can truly hang your hat on.

Influenced by all the current music of the day, including 1970's rock and pop hits, as well as popular country songs of the time, now considered to be Classic Country, Randy began performing on weekends as a teenager, playing to patrons of the local Country and Western bar scene who loved to scoot a boot and drink a few rounds. As the years passed, Randy branched out into songwriting and recording studio projects, learning to play bass and rhythm guitar as well as gaining some invaluable knowledge of the process of recording in the studio environment.

It was with the release of his group's self-titled album “Texas Gold” that Randy made his recording debut not only as a drummer, but also as a songwriter, having co-written a number of the songs on the album which was recorded in Lubbock, Texas, hometown of Rock and Roll Icon Buddy Holly, and produced by the legendary Lloyd Maines.

This experience served Randy well, as later in life while a member of the Texas Rebel Band, Randy not only played drums on this bands entire album, but also played the bass guitar parts, wrote and co-wrote half of the songs and co-produced the project along with renowned Texas musician Mark Paden.

Randy has also performed in bands that were featured as opening acts for some of the top Nashville country artists such as Moe Bandy, Conn Hunley, T.G. Sheppard and Mel Tillis. Earning the nickname “The Shuffle King”, for his ability to play a great country shuffle beat, Randy was once even introduced by a mutual friend to singer songwriter Gary P. Nunn as "the best country drummer in the state of Texas."

As a Cancer survivor, Randy continues to embrace life on a day to day basis. Using music as a way to reach deep down into people's hearts and provide joy and entertainment that makes the day seems little brighter, Randy Henderson is the kind of musician people enjoy not only hearing perform, but also one they can't help but be moved by, on and off the dance floor.

Currently Randy performs with the group Texas Gray , runs an entertainment business( Abbey Room Entertainment) with his wife Debbie and continues to write and record in his home studio.
